The Live Drop

If there’s only one new podcast you listen to this summer, make it The Live Drop with Mark Valley.

Full of history and personal stories, The Live Drop is fun and entertaining; with the quality expertise and interesting perspectives, it’s educational and enlightening. Casual listeners can enjoy it all and will see in time how the history connects to current events. Enjoy stories, anecdotes and real tradecraft guidance from actual (former) intelligence operatives, counterintelligence agents, and other professionals.

Weekly episodes feature guests, which The Live Drop calls “Assets” in classic spy style, from various professions that relate to or directly involve Cold War and intel experiences. Mark is not just the creator and host of The Live Drop, he is also a West Point graduate and U.S. Army veteran who served in Operation Desert Storm and was stationed in Berlin at the end of the Cold War.

The Live Drop is partnered with the Wende Museum in Culver City, CA.

Let's Do This!

Join Mark Valley as he explores history and current events and ventures into the elusive world of intelligence collection and espionage — as it was, as it is, and as it’s portrayed — where he will spot and assess, reveal and debrief: diplomats, analysts and experts, spies and spy hunters, and the actors who have played them.

Tune in for new episodes each week to hear their stories of intrigue and deception as guests recount their experiences from the Cold War to present.
